The Voyage

…I gasp for air; for breath…

I blow out my dear life, and gulp down my salty death…

I can no longer fight the wind, the waves, the monster, the tide…

So, sleep my heart! You too, my restless mind.

Now my body shall never in this lifetime be mine.

Now my screams, forever silenced on this night.

Now my dreams, scattered,

And to my burdens, I must finally wave goodbye.

The sky is no longer blue, no longer black,

It is now made of blinding light.

My son, forgive me, for I can no longer fight.

He finds me and he takes my hand,

God with all his might…

He tells me that I have reached my destination:

The Voyage -although fatal- was oh so worth the ride.
